[Bosudong Cooler]’s first full-length album, "Sand".

The album "Sand" is the first full-length of [Bosudong Cooler]. [Bosudong Cooler] began its activities in 2017. In 2018, the following year, he released his singles "Kill Me" and "Cotton". Along with his appearance on Korean biggest internet flatform Naver’s Onstage, he has established his position as a major band in the Busan scene. Until the release of the EP "Yeah, I don't want it" (2019), the front of the conservative cooler was an important band. The fascinating tone and poetic and inflammatory lyrics penetrated the hearts of listeners. This is until Jung Joo-ri, who was in charge of the front, suddenly left the band in 2020.

The band where the front-person left usually loses its direction. However, [Bosudong Cooler] Instead of being frustrated, he quickly reorganized the band. Auditions were held for dozens of vocalists. Some of them were probably similar to the existing front. However, the person visited by the [Bosudong Cooler] was the one to promote the next.

Sand is an unexpected album. The things that have been believed to be [Bosudong Cooler] so far - not denying them - sound as if they have let them go leisurely. The composition of the sound and performance, the structure of the song, and the text contained were all subtly different. It can be said that the essence of the band itself has changed because all of these have organic relationships.

The most prominent change in music is the use of beat variation. Remove or stretch the gourd. It is a methodology to more advantageously express the flow of emotions, not errors committed by some progressive rocks of the previous generation-to show off their technical superiority. It is up to the melody to instill beauty into the curved reorganized rhythm through the hands of bassist Lee Sang-won and drummer Choi Woon-kyu.

The front of Sand is not one person. Goo Seul-han's guitar, which seemed to focus on serving the vocals, only begins to make his voice sufficient from this album. In line with the curved rhythm, the development of Mars also exudes joy and sadness. It would not be an exaggeration to say that it is an album with the most beautiful guitar melody among the recent ones. New singer Kim Min-ji's elegant voice and Goo Seul-han's guitar constantly call each other and evoke the feeling of responding Call & Response. Combining sophisticated drumming and base play, the album Sand feels like a feast of melody.

The speaker of the album Sand is the people who are one step behind. Do not talk to or reach out easily. Wandering through the forest and the beach. Realizing that all memories have faded, he burst into tears on the bed. It sounds like a story about sadness. However, the ending of the story does not result in endless depression. I don't know English, but anyway, they are the ones who have to walk here. The music of "Sand" sounds like a song about a person and neighbors who are in silence, but who will stay with them for a very long time since then. Maybe it resembles the heart of prayer.

On the first day I met Seul-han and Min-ji, I talked about [Big Thief] and [Feist]. At the end of the production of the album Sand, I asked Seul-han if he liked the [Fleetwood Mac]. There is a time difference of about 50 years between [Fleetwood Mac] and [Big Thief]. However, in terms of circularity, does jet lag really mean a lot? The prototype may be softrocks such as 'sand' or 'rubber'. It could be art rock such as 'Breath', "Dani', and 'Gureumi'. It can be simple folk pop such as 'Clementine', 'Sandmen', and 'O Rang Dae', or sometimes it can be stories that stretch out like 'Season'. However, the prototype is about some fundamentals. The album Sand contains fundamentally beautiful rock and pop. Dreams are often frustrated. The world is always sinking little by little. Nevertheless, the evidence that new beauty is still being born in some places, sand.
